Rebecca: Camp and Retreat Coordinator

Rebecca’s love for camping ministry started when, at ten, she attended a camp near her home in Michigan. Since then, God has used camp to influence her life, giving her a passion for camping ministry. Rebecca first served on Fort’s summer staff in 2020, after several unlikely events made it very clear that she was meant to be here.

She has a degree in Elementary Education (2020) and previously worked as a reading specialist.

Rebecca returned to Fort for the summer of 2021 as a leader at Adventure Outpost and then spent a year as a Contract Staff. In 2022 she accepted the call to join Missionary Staff as Program Coordinator – assisting with many of the behind-the-scenes details and hosting retreat groups. She also oversees Children’s Ministry, using her passion to inspire kids to know and love Christ.

Fast Facts

Rebecca grew up in the Upper Peninsula and loves swimming, kayaking, and hiking along the Lake Superior shoreline. For reference sake (some have asked), Rebecca is Jonathan and Dyane Brood’s niece.

Fort Firsts

Rebecca first came to Fort in the summer of 1998, “seeing” Fort for the first time just a few months before being born.

What passage of scripture is meaningful to you? I love the promise of God’s incomprehensible power and unfathomable love in Ephesians 3:14-21.

What is your favorite Fort memory? A favorite memory is when my cousin was baptized in Spider Lake.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? I would be delighted by the ability to fly. I love heights and exploring!
