Why would one church drive nine hours, year after year, for a Winter Weekend Retreat and have their camper numbers grow year after year? There’s just something special about time away, Up North, in the winter.

For over thirty years, churches have been sending junior and senior high groups to Fort for a two and three night winter retreat. Why? One winter camper said, “Every time I come, my relationship with God strengthens.” Someone else told us how they were impacted including, “Doing ‘funner’ things than TV with my friends.” He got it!

A winter retreat at Fort provides the same kinds of things a summer getaway does: relationships, adventure,God’s Word and time in creation. You just wear more clothes. And when it’s hard-core broomball on our near professional level courts, you don’t care how cold it is. A horseback ride through the snow covered woods is marvelous. And who can beat tubing down our two great hills or cross country skiing? We hear time and time again that they wish they had more time away at Fort.

At the end of the day, when you are enjoying a hot chai tea around a fireplace, and you are sharing stories with your youth group about how awesome the day was, you will be ready to come back again next year. Fort can provide music and great speakers for your retreat. Our specialty is crafting a retreat that suits your needs. Our Program Team has been helping groups and relieving the stress of youth pastors from all over the Midwest for years.
